Langmuir Mission Bipolar PDS

To generate a sawtooth wave needed to drive the Langmuir probe, we needed to have a bipolar DC-DC supply that was capable of outputting +15V and -15V. We decided to go with MAX17572 and MAX17578 chips for this supply, as they were rated for high efficiency with a small footprint. This supply is designed to operate at a max of 300mA, so the PCB is a sufficient cooling method for the chips. We were able to achieve an average efficiency of around 85% on the positive supply and 78% on the negative supply.
